‘Cast My Kid’
Opera in the Rock is holding a “Cast My Kid” contest seeking a local child for its production of Giacamo Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly. Needed: a petite youngster, boy or girl, age 5 or 6, of any ethnicity, to play the silent role of “Trouble,” Cio-Cio San’s 3-year-old son.
The child must be able to follow instructions and do simple stage positioning while maintaining composure, and must be able to attend May 10-15 rehearsals and the May 17 and 19 performances at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main St., Little Rock. (A parent or guardian must be present at all rehearsals and performance times.)
